According to Danielle Goetz, MD, Pediatric Pulmonologist at University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital, croup may be the cause of your child’s strange cough.
If your child’s cough sounds different than a usual cough, she might have croup. Croup is a disease caused by a virus, bacteria, allergies or inhaled irritants that leads to airway swelling and breathing problems.

BabyBjörn has your baby covered this winter, whether you live in a cold or warm climate, so you can keep your little one healthy and clean during the holiday season.
Cover for Baby Carrier Keep baby warm and cozy while on the go with BabyBjörn’s Cover for Baby Carrier. The soft fleece cover and detachable, protective hood are water-repellant and windproof, so your child stays comfortable inside the carrier despite cold and wet weather. You may face your baby in or out with the cover on the carrier and you can lift baby from the carrier without removing the cover. While your child should still have all her winter gear on, the carrier will keep her snug and toasty, and hopefully, keep away winter bugs, too.

Parenting takes practice, patience and a steep learning curve to master, but you can never have too many tips! In our most recent survey, we asked you how to keep your baby calm. Here are some of your answers:
- Snuggle, shhhhhhh-ing, distracting.
- Routines, calm voice, reading books.
