baby-in-carrier-140An important part of being a parent is to provide the vital closeness that promotes infant-parent bonding. The University Hospitals Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital, home of the No. 2 ranked NICU and one of America’s Best Children’s Hospitals according to U.S. News & World Report, recommends the use of BabyBjörn Baby Carriers to enhance the infant-parent bond.

We decided to ask you how you bond with baby. Here’s what your fellow BabyBjörn Believers said:

  • Lots of hugs & kisses, singing to him, making silly faces to make him laugh, reading books to him, playing together.

  • I nursed my son for 15 months, read him books daily, take him to parks, museums, the zoo, the beach (we live in downtown Chicago) and try to make memories while exploring our great city.

  • Bath time is play time, he loves to 'splash' Mommy. Reading to him. I still bottle feed and that gives me the closeness I crave that my little crawler doesn't want much anymore.

  • We go for walks with her in the baby carrier. She loves it and would be happy there for hours! We do 'rolly polly' on the floor. I lay with my back on the floor and hold her in a tight hug on my chest, then we roll side to side and she giggles away!

  • We set aside specific times of the day where it is just daughter-daddy time, or mommy-daughter time, or family time.

  • Lots of babywearing--my husband loves it too! Also, baby massage, singing songs, playing on the floor, and reading books.

  • We cuddle, I always hold my son while he's eating his bottle, and I get on the floor and play with them both daily. I love to see the joy on their faces!

  • Lots of cuddle time, talking, singing, playing, and one-on-one time.
