BabyBjörn Health and Safety Fact Sheet
BabyBjörn is a Swedish, family-owned company that designs innovative, high-quality products for infants and toddlers. Its commitment to health and safety is recognized throughout the world.  Here are a few of the ways that BabyBjörn works to keep children healthy and safe:

Product Screening:  BabyBjörn works closely with families, industrial designers, testing institutes and medical experts to meet rigorous safety standards.  This chain of screeners must approve every product before it is released.   All BabyBjörn Kitchen and Bathroom products are tested by Specialized Technology Resources (STR), an independent global provider of quality assurance testing.  Materials that come into contact with food are FDA approved for food use.

Textile Certification:  All BabyBjörn products with a textile component that comes into close contact with baby's skin are certified to the most rigorous Class 1 criteria of the Oeko-Tex Standard 100, an international safety standard for textiles (www.oekotex.com.)   Oeko-Tex Standard 100 verifies that materials do not contain more than the accepted levels of certain heavy metals and carcinogenic and allergenic substances known to pose a health risk.

Textile Properties: All BabyBjörn textiles have pH values within the prescribed skin friendly range.  All dyes and prints used on BabyBjörn fabrics are saliva-fast: this ensures that if babies or toddlers chew on the fabric, it will not bleed or pose any health risk.

BPA:  All BabyBjörn products with a plastic component are free of Bisphenol-A (BPA).  BPA is an industrial chemical used to manufacture polycarbonate plastic, which is found in some baby products.  Recent studies by health organizations such as the National Institute of Health have raised concerns about the safety of BPA.

Benefits of Front-Wearing Baby Carriers:  Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital, ranked among the top five pediatric hospitals in America by U.S. News & World Report, recommends the use of all BabyBjörn Baby Carriers to enhance the infant-parent bond.  Further, the hospital endorses BabyBjörn Baby Carriers to help position the baby comfortably and provide proper support for the infant's spine and hips.
