It often takes practice and patience to get little kids to fall asleep at bedtime. In our most recent survey we asked you how you get your baby to, well, sleep like a baby at night. Here are some of your answers:
-
ROUTINE, ROUTINE, ROUTINE!! Works like a charm!!
-
Bath, books, songs-while rubbing back and then bedtime.
-
Some milk and a bit of snuggling. And his fave bear.
-
Keep to the same routine each night: dinner, bath, reading books, bedtime.
-
Swaddling!
-
I have a special blanket and stuffed animal that is associated with bed time, and after a round of kisses, I tuck her in and tell her night night.
-
Each child has a night light, favorite stuffed animal and small blanket to cuddle.
-
Had her on a schedule since 3 months; low activity, final feeding, dark room, read story and put in crib with music on.
-
By allowing her to put her "babies" to sleep at the same time.
-
I tell her she can play in the tub until the water has all gone down the drain and then it's time for bed. That way she has warning to wrap up playtime and get into bedtime mode.
